VBS 2026 VOLUNTEER JOB DESCRIPTIONS

GUIDES

• Time shift: 5:45-8:15 pm nightly
• Supervise Children during each rotation in addition to the rotation leaders
• Maintain order during the opening and closing assemblies (seating amongst the kids)
• Take attendance and keep accurate records with the provided daily sheets
• Lead children safely and quietly from one rotation to the next

REGISTRATION/CHECK-IN

• Led by Brian Charland
• Time shift: 5:00-6:00 pm nightly
• Check in each VBS attendee and affix name tag to child’s shirt on front and back
• Direct attendees to McDowell Hall for the meal
• Aid in first-time registrations using the church’s registration software

CHECK-OUT

• Led by Brian Charland
• Time Shift: 7:45-8:15 pm nightly
• Using the church’s security software, help Brian with securely checking out the kids and parent pickup in the front foyer of the church

GAMES

• Led by Payton and Robbie Badders
• Time shift: 6:15-7:45 pm nightly
• Supervise children during play
• Direct cooperative play as instructed by the rotation leader

CRAFTS

• Led by Rebekah Walters
• Time Shift: 6:15-7:45 pm nightly
• Assist children with craft activities as instructed by the rotation leader

KITCHEN CREW

• Led by Freda Lowe
• Time Shifts: 4:30-6:00 pm nightly
• Assist with the preparation of the meals
• Assist with the serving of the meals to kids and heroes
• Assist with cleanup after all kids are sent off to the Sanctuary

RUNNERS

• Led by Amy Barnes
• Time Shifts: 6:00-8:00 pm nightly
• Maintain contact through usage of walkie-talkies
• Ensure Games area always has water available
• Attend to any last-minute needs of guides and leaders

PRE-GAME HYPE CREW

• 2 adults needed
• Time Shifts: 4:45-5:15 pm nightly
• Supervise the early arrival kids in Bullock-Matthews, where the VBS music videos will be played on loop

BANK TELLERS

• Led by Brian Barnes
• Time Shifts: 6:25-7:00(ish) pm nightly
• Help the banker (Brian Barnes) count the offering and provide an accurate total for the Closing Assembly
