Worship at JHBC is designed to reach a multigenerational congregation.  It includes songs from the past as well as modern worship songs.  Our goal is to help all those who join us for worship (in-person, on the radio, or online) engage with God, communicating our love for Him, His worthiness of worship, and our gratefulness for His sacrifice for us through His Son Jesus. Here you will find a welcoming community of believers seeking the face of God through biblical preaching, God-honoring worship, and sacrificial service.

Worship Choir

The JHBC Choir has a long-standing tradition of excellence in music and worship.  It is a critical part of our Sunday morning worship, as well as special seasonal programs.

Rehearsals on Wednesday nights at 7:15 pm in the sanctuary. No audition is required and anyone who would like to join the group is welcome.

With few exceptions, the Choir sits in the loft during our Sunday morning service, joining the congregation just before the pastor’s message. Several Sundays each month, the Choir presents a special song as part of our worship. They are known for performing a wide variety of musical styles, including classical, contemporary, and gospel.

Pastor Scott leads the group and is assisted by Church Pianist, Joan Luellen.

Worship Team

Instrumentalists, Vocalists, and Tech Team

The goal of this group of talented volunteers and staff is to help facilitate God-honoring worship among those who join in our Sunday morning worship services.

Rehearsals operate on a rotating schedule on Tuesday and Wednesday at 6 pm in the sanctuary. These are for vocals, instruments, and sound guy.

The Team includes our vocal team (worship leader and one or two additional vocalists), the instrumentalists (acoustic, electric, and bass guitars, drums, piano, and keyboard), and the tech team (sound guy, computer guy, and streaming person).

Nearly all of these roles are filled by dedicated volunteers, and we always have room for more! If you have the heart and skills needed, consider reaching out to Pastor Scott to discuss your interest and set up a time to talk further.
