Child Safety Training Requirements
These are required Steps for JHBC Volunteers who are unable to attend the annual Child Safety Workshop in August.
Please complete all steps below before serving with children or youth at Jonesboro Heights Baptist Church.
1. WATCH THE TRAINING VIDEO
Learn about important child-safety topics, including recognizing grooming behaviors and understanding reporting procedures.

2. REVIEW JHBC’S SEXUAL MISCONDUCT POLICY
Review the church’s Sexual Misconduct Policy (updated 2023).

3. SIGN THE ACKNOWLEDGEMENT FORM
Sign the Acknowledgement of Receipt form for the Sexual Misconduct Policy and return it to Pastor Brian Charland.
Printed copies are also available in the church office.

4. NOTIFY PASTOR BRIAN OR SARAH ALVERSON
Let Pastor Brian Charland or Sarah Alverson know when you have completed the steps above. They will verify the status of your background check.
If a background check is required, they will initiate it through CheckR. You will receive the request directly from CheckR by email.
5. COMPLETE YOUR BACKGROUND CHECK
When you receive the email from CheckR, follow the instructions provided to submit your background check.
